As merchants switch their sales to e-commerce, online marketplaces for handmade goods, like Etsy and ArtFire, make it extremely easy for artisans who can produce a steady supply of quality handmade products, such as crocheted blankets or unique painted glassware. If you have a unique craft, this is a good way to earn income while you're at home, doing what you love.
I understand that WA has a built in solution to this — promote WA. That in itself is a business one can passionately dedicate himself to. This seems to be an excellent idea initially. But then we have to contend with the fact that there may be tens of thousands of WA affiliates who are in the same boat and who have nothing more to promote than WA itself. There is already a glut in this niche. That’s the reason why every time we do a search for product reviews, we almost ALWAYS end up with a product review done by a WA affiliate who is reviewing the product as a way to lead the visitor to joining WA as the better alternative to the business or product the visitor is researching on.
In the first quarter of 2019, Wix.com spent $55 million in marketing. Typically, the first quarter’s marketing spend is significantly higher than the rest of the year, as the first quarter is when the company acquires the most users and has the most visitors to its site, said Joe Pollaro, general manager of the U.S. for Wix.com, who added that the company spends across various channels online including search engines, social networks, streaming and branding activities. The company declined to break out exactly how it spends its dollars or share percentage allocations, citing competitive advantage. In 2018, Wix.com spent $74 million in marketing, up from 2017’s $70 million, according to Kantar.
There's an audience for everything, even if it's as specific as dollhouse furniture or organic dog food. With a niche e-commerce store, you can reach customers who seek your specific products. Building a business in a niche market can help you differentiate yourself from other brands and build your credibility and expertise. Look to social media or your own consumer needs to come up with a product to sell online.  
This site is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I am a fit and frisky 56 y.o. single dad working 2 jobs, with an unquenchable thirst for learning new things. I’ve been surreptitiously studying the New Thought writers (from Atkinson to Proctor right up to some of the really sharp, young people creating YouTube videos). I think I’m getting a grip on the self-motivation and metaphysics of the whole thing, but am too scattered to decide exactly what kind of business to start! many of your 27 ideas I have some familiarity with (one of my old army buddies got me in to Bombardier Transport in early 2011 for 3 months to help meet a deadline on some tech pubs…it was a lot of fun! I was told I’m a natural, but could not find any more jobs in that sector….Oy Gevalt). Anyway, thank you so much for this site!
