In the first quarter of 2019, Wix.com spent $55 million in marketing. Typically, the first quarter’s marketing spend is significantly higher than the rest of the year, as the first quarter is when the company acquires the most users and has the most visitors to its site, said Joe Pollaro, general manager of the U.S. for Wix.com, who added that the company spends across various channels online including search engines, social networks, streaming and branding activities. The company declined to break out exactly how it spends its dollars or share percentage allocations, citing competitive advantage. In 2018, Wix.com spent $74 million in marketing, up from 2017’s $70 million, according to Kantar.

I don’t have a website yet, but there’s several I know that aren’t big bucks and I even heard Wix was decent. Anyway. I want to become an affiliate. I’ve desired it for over a year. I’ve been told it will cost so much per month. I truly believe if you know the basics you can do this. It may take time. I just attended Keale Keane’s webinar and paid $99.00.

It’s not so great for websites that are eCommerce-first. The functionality is there. It’s fine. But I would not choose Wix to start an online store. I’d either build an online store on your own with WordPress + WooCommerce or go with a specialty eCommerce platform like Shopify (comparison) or Bigcommerce (review). These pay-per-click ads appear on your blog. Every time somebody clicks on an ad (which is supposed to be about a subject related to your niche), you make a few cents or more. Small amounts each time, but it adds up. This is extremely hands-off. You just need to get a code from Google, place it on your website - and the ads will automatically appear on your blog. Google will only show ads that are relevant to your blog so it's a good experience for your visitors and maximizes the number of clicks you get, meaning more income.
Hello Jack, so the only other stuff we pay for is the tools needed like autoresponders and stuff to design your website, programmes that help you write a blog etc (although I understand there are some free ones). I had signed up to another company and really enjoying it but I had to keep on putting more money in if I wanted to progress, it wasn’t that cheap either! Thank you
One of the reasons I like Wealthy Affiliate is because it enables me to provide this blog for free to people, but also be able to sell a genuinely high-quality product that I know is always updated and provides a better service than I ever could. Plus, when people sign up using my affiliate link, I can still provide one-on-one coaching and support as a way to add value and as a “thank you” for signing up using my link. With affiliate marketing, you offer the products for sale, for example, on your blog or e-commerce website. Each product has a unique link that tracks back to your account with your affiliate partner. A prospect who clicks on the link is taken to your partner’s shopping cart for checkout. Once they buy, that purchase is recorded and you receive a commission. Commission amounts vary depending on the affiliate partner, but is generally 5 percent to 25 percent, or 50 percent or more with digital information products.
If you don’t like to write, do not sign up for Wealthy Affiliate. The business model that Wealthy Affiliate teaches revolves around producing lots of great content to attract website visitors from search engines. This means, as you build your business, you’ll be writing just about every day, just like I do on this very blog you’re reading. I’ve already written almost 4,000 words in this one post alone, and it’s not even close to being finished yet. Affiliate marketing takes work, and if you are unable or unwilling to write a TON of content, don’t even consider getting into this. Being a writer will end up being your main job.
To reach those audiences, Wix.com is allocating more of its digital marketing dollars to LinkedIn as well as Twitter, seeking the attention of professionals and opinion leaders, said CMO Omer Shai. This shift comes as the company has deprioritized television — save for its annual Super Bowl campaign — over the last two years with Wix.com spending the majority of its marketing dollars on digital, moving away from TV almost entirely.
